How is a therapist different than a mentor, friend, or someone close that you trust?

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have specialized training in working with children, adolescents, and adults to promote mental wellness in a safe and structured manner. I teach my clients new skills, offer unbiased validation of your emotions, listen without judgement, and help you find real solutions to your concerns.

How Long does the process take?

Therapy is a process, and every person is unique in what they need from counseling. I work with my clients to establish goals for treatment, develop a plan for evaluating progress on those goals, and determine the treatment frequency and length. Typically, counseling done on a regular basis will create a solid foundation, which can then be tapered off towards the end of treatment.

How do i schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment here or call the office at (405) 265-6693 and ask to schedule with Indigo! I look forward to hearing from you!

How much does therapy cost?

Individual sessions are $150 for the 60 minute intake session and $130 for future 50 minute sessions.

How does therapy work? What do I do in session?

Therapy starts with first building trust and a relationship. As these qualities develop through conversation, respect, and unconditional positive regard, we will begin processing your experiences, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors as they relate to your concerns. I will work with you to brainstorm solutions and help you reach your counseling goals at your pace, all while validating your needs and having some laughs along the way.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I do not. However, this allows me to provide mental health services in a manner that is 100% confidential. Additionally, utilizing self-pay for counseling services empowers clients to choose the provider, treatment approach, and treatment length that is a best fit for THEM.

What is an intake? What should I expect?

For adults, the intake process is a chance for us to meet and a time for me to get to know you. During the intake, a brief history related to presenting concerns may be discussed. Additionally, this is a time to set goals and begin to assess mental health needs.

For children, the intake process involves meeting with a caregiver for the first half of the session, obtaining background information, and understanding what goals you have in mind for your child. The second half of the intake session is when I will meet the child and begin the process of building a relationship and establishing trust.
